About LawDepot

LawDepot is an online legal document service operated by Sequiter Inc., which is based in Alberta, Canada, with offices in the United States and the United Kingdom. Its own history dates the idea to 2001. The UK site, lawdepot.co.uk, offers business, property and personal documents built from guided questionnaires.

For websites there are two relevant documents: Website Terms and Conditions and a Website Privacy Policy. The terms cover intellectual property, account responsibilities, third party links, indemnity and governing law. The privacy policy asks about your site type, what data you collect automatically and directly, sharing, retention, security, user rights, children's data and Do Not Track, and it includes a cookie section.

How to get terms and conditions from LawDepot

  1. Open Website Terms and Conditions or Website Privacy Policy on lawdepot.co.uk.
  2. Choose the jurisdiction and answer the questions. LawDepot estimates 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Preview the document. Your answers are saved at this point.
  4. Choose a licence to print or download: the one week free trial, the One Year Pro subscription or a single document purchase.
  5. Sign in to your account to open, print, download or email the document.

Things to know

  • Pricing: The help centre lists One Year Pro at £83.88 billed annually, renewing automatically, and single documents at a flat rate between £7.50 and £109. VAT treatment is not stated.
  • Free trial: The trial gives access to all documents for one week and then renews at £33 per month. You can cancel online at any time.
  • Governing law: The website terms leave the governing jurisdiction for you to fill in, so check it reflects where your business is based.
  • Privacy policy scope: The questionnaire also includes a California step, so ignore parts that do not apply to a UK site.
  • Not legal advice: These are general documents. Check the result against how your website actually collects and uses data.
